Player Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) is a game which is 100player battle-royale in real graphics. This game is based on the idea of 100 people landing on an island having nothing. After landing, they have to collect guns, healthcare and bags etc. to keep through the whole game. There’s a concept of safe/blue zone in which the health points starts decreasing slowly. The damage rate of the zone increases once its radius starts decreasing. The ending of the game is a very simple concept ‘Last man standing wins’. This game has become the most addictive game in the age group of 16-23 years.
Player Unknown’s Battle Ground is based on real physics such as recoil, cars etc… The game has a large choice of weapons along with different ammo types. It has large options of weapons and items like grenades and backpack, energy items makes it a large game to explore. This makes it a large game to explore because you need to play at least 10 classic games to explore the whole game world. This game is now available to both the platforms- PC and Mobile. Since, it’s free to play on mobile; many hackers are available on higher ranks. When you start playing the game on bronze tier you face bots because many people are now on at least tier of this game.
This game has a ‘tier’ system of ranking in which when you select any game mode, the players which lands into the game with you are of the similar ranks of the player. The ‘tier’ system of PUBG is based on points which you obtain when you end a classic match. The game is played on 3 team types- solo, duo and squad. With each type selected, you’ll get the opponents of the same team types. For example, if you have selected solo game mode, other opponents matched with you will also beplaying solo. There’s in an option of ‘auto-matching’ in which the game engine will automatically fill a place which is available in your squad or duo. You can turn it off in the map-selection settings.
Game play Modes
The game play modes on a broad basis are of three types:-
1) Classic mode: –
Featuring 4 maps (now, possibility of new maps in further updates) this mode offers a 100 player live battleground. Each of the four maps is designed keeping the real locations in minds. All the maps are beautifully designed.
2) Arcade mode: –
This mode has short games lasting up to 15-20 mins. (Max). For now there are 4 type of mini-games in it:
Featuring a lot less than the whole map, this mini-zone game is a fast-paced game in which the zone is small and shrinks faster than classic mode.
• Sniper Training-
This mode is available for 3 days in a week, where you can have only Sniper Rifles and pistols to deal with. It has 40 live players playing in a single game.
This mode is considered to improve the close encounters of a player. The characteristic of this game is: – you re-spawn with a weapon immediately.
• Quick match-
The 8-minute match in which the weapon choice can be randomly system-defined. There can be shotguns or all weapons or melee.
3) Event mode: –
This mode is updated on every season. Each season update may have or may not have an event mode option. For the time being- ‘survive till dawn’ game is available in it, based on Resident Evil 2.
To play the Classic mode of the game, there are two options:
1. TPP (Third-Person Perspective) – In this mode, the player can see the whole body of the in-game player and can have a 360 view of the whole ground nearby to it. This gives an advantage to the player as he can get a little peak around the wall or a corner.
2. FPP (First-Person Perspective) – This mode is not well played in the mobile version but is played majorly on PC version. This mode gives the vision of only 110 degree which is like, seeing from a human eye. This makes this mode difficult because the player cannot have a sneak peak around the wall or corner.
**FPP doesn’t support Arcade and Event mode on mobile version of game.
The game was designed by Brandon Greene.
2016 was the starting point for PUBG
In early 2016, they began to develop the game with an aim for release a year later. On March 23, 2017 it was finally the time – an early access release to Steam came and it immediately became a success despite some bugs.
Just over one and a half years after the release, the game has sold 50 million copies across PC and Xbox One. On Steam’s list of the most popular games, PUBG is still on top, before games like Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. However, despite fine numbers, they have challenges. The genre grows and challengers have appeared.
One of them is Fortnite, which is a similar game that has taken many active players from PUBG. However, Brendan Greene has welcomed Fortnite, in several interviews he has stated that his goal is to make the genre grow and that the way there is through new games.
After the success of game, tournaments of PUBG began into many places such as Philippines. This brought the changing point of the game.
